Dr. Bhawani Singh Rathore is a globally recognised Renewable Energy and BESS expert with 24+ years of experience across Wind, Solar PV, CSP, WHRS, Energy Storage Systems, Green Hydrogen, and EV integration. Currently serving as DGM – Projects at JSW Energy, he has successfully executed over 5000 MW of Wind, 500 MW of Solar, and multiple large-scale power and storage projects, with strong expertise in EPC execution, regulatory compliance, and grid integration.
A Certified Master RE Trainer and IPMA Certified Senior Project Manager, Dr. Rathore has delivered national-level skill development programs and collaborated with leading organisations including NTPC, Adani, Tata Power, and Siemens Gamesa. His vision is to accelerate India’s clean energy transition by building world-class project execution capability and empowering the next generation of renewable energy professionals.

Course Agenda
- This intensive 2-day offline program provides a complete 360-degree understanding of Battery Energy Storage Systems. Day 1 focuses on BESS concepts, architecture, engineering components, AC/DC coupling philosophies, system integration, use cases such as grid-scale storage, renewable firming, peak shaving, ancillary services, and hybrid solar+BESS applications. It also includes hands-on modelling using Storlytics software, Excel-based design inputs, degradation and augmentation planning, POI energy considerations, and detailed financial modelling covering Capex/Opex structure, revenue streams, LD impact, and Indian tender risk allocation frameworks.
- Day 2 shifts focus toward manufacturing strategy, assembly economics, quality planning, factory acceptance philosophy, vendor development, procurement risk management, certification requirements including BIS and global standards, thermal runaway mechanisms, fire safety compliance, DGFS audit expectations, installation sequencing, FAT & SAT procedures, O&M strategies, performance tracking, preventive maintenance, hybrid system integration, and long-term service agreements. The program concludes with interactive activities and applied design challenges to reinforce practical learning.
